Birth is one of the most powerful, transformative experiences a person can go through. As a birth and postpartum doula, I have always believed that the care a mother receives after birth is just as important as the support she receives during labor. The postpartum period is a sacred transition. A time of healing, bonding, adjusting, and stepping into a new chapter.
I am so excited to announce that I am expanding my services and now offering placenta encapsulation and placenta art through Meadow’s Blossoming Bellies! 🌿
This new offering allows me to continue supporting families beyond the birth room and into the postpartum journey, honoring the placenta as a meaningful part of the birth experience.
What Is Placenta Encapsulation?
Placenta encapsulation is the process of preparing the placenta after birth and turning it into capsules that some families choose to consume during the postpartum period.
Throughout history, many cultures have honored the placenta as a powerful and meaningful part of birth. Today, some parents choose placenta encapsulation as part of their postpartum care routine, viewing it as one more way to intentionally support their transition after welcoming their baby.
Every family’s postpartum experience is unique, and my goal is not to tell parents what they should do, but to provide a safe, informed, and respectful option for those who feel called to incorporate placenta encapsulation into their journey.
As your placenta encapsulator, I prioritize:
🌸 Proper handling and preparation practices
🌸 Food safety and sanitation standards
🌸 Respectful care of your placenta from pickup to delivery
🌸 Clear communication throughout the process
🌸 Honoring your birth story and postpartum wishes
Your placenta is not just tissue — it is a part of the story of how your baby entered the world.
Why Do Families Choose Placenta Encapsulation?
Families choose placenta encapsulation for many different reasons. Some parents are drawn to the tradition and symbolism behind honoring their placenta. Others appreciate having a postpartum ritual that feels personal and intentional.
Some commonly shared reasons parents explore placenta encapsulation include:
🌿 Creating a meaningful connection to their birth experience
🌿 Honoring the role their placenta played during pregnancy
🌿 Having a personal postpartum tradition
🌿 Feeling supported during the transition into parenthood
While research on placenta encapsulation is still developing, many parents share personal experiences that make this option meaningful to them. I believe every family deserves access to evidence-informed information so they can make the choice that feels right for them.
Preserving Your Birth Story Through Placenta Art
Along with placenta encapsulation, I am also offering placenta art — a beautiful way to preserve a visual keepsake from your pregnancy and birth journey.
The placenta is an incredible organ that supported your baby throughout pregnancy. Creating placenta art transforms this temporary, powerful part of your birth story into a lasting piece of artwork.
Each print is unique — just like every pregnancy, every baby, and every family.
Placenta art can be a beautiful addition to:
🌸 Birth keepsake collections
🌸 Baby books
🌸 Nursery décor
🌸 First birthday memories
🌸 Family heirlooms
For many families, it becomes a reminder of the incredible journey their bodies went through to grow and nourish their baby.
Why Add Placenta Services to My Doula Work?
When I became a doula, my passion was always about supporting families through the entire transition into parenthood — not just the moment of birth.
My own experiences with pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and navigating unexpected challenges have shaped the way I support families. I know how important it is for parents to feel seen, respected, and cared for during one of the biggest changes of their lives.
Adding placenta services allows me to continue walking alongside families during those early postpartum days when support matters so much.
Whether you are preparing for your first baby, adding another little one to your family, navigating a NICU journey, or simply looking for ways to make your postpartum experience more intentional, I am honored to be part of your support team.
Serving Families With Compassion & Care
