Home, Healing, and So Grateful ❤️

Hello everyone. ❤️

I wanted to give you all an update because so many of you have reached out, checked in, prayed, and loved on us over the last few days.

I'm happy to say that surgery went wonderfully, and I am officially home resting. ❤️

It's honestly hard to put into words how relieved I feel. After months of pain, struggling to eat, wondering what was wrong with my body, and finally learning that my lap band had slipped, it feels like a huge weight has been lifted. While I'm definitely sore and moving much slower than normal, I already know this surgery was the right decision.

Now comes the hard part for me...resting.

If you know me, you know sitting still isn't exactly my strong suit. I'm usually running around, caring for my family, supporting my doula clients, planning community events, or finding someone else who needs a little extra love. Being the one who has to slow down and let others take care of me is a humbling experience.

But this week has reminded me of something I tell families all the time: healing isn't something we're meant to do alone.

To every single person who has texted, called, commented, shared my post, prayed, signed up for our Meal Train, dropped off food, sent gift cards, checked on Meadow and Dakota, or simply held us in your thoughts...

Thank you.

You have no idea how much your kindness has meant to me. Every message has made me smile. Every meal has taken one more worry off our shoulders. Every act of love has reminded me that we are surrounded by an incredible village.

As a doula, I have the privilege of walking beside families during some of the biggest moments of their lives. I always encourage them to lean on their village and to let people help. This week, I've had to take my own advice—and while it's not easy, it's been a beautiful reminder that love often shows up in casseroles, grocery bags, DoorDash deliveries, text messages, and simple "How are you feeling today?" check-ins.

I'm going to spend the next couple of weeks focusing on healing, listening to my body, and giving myself permission to rest. That's not something I'm naturally good at, but I'm working on it.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for carrying my family through this chapter. We feel so loved, so supported, and so incredibly blessed to have each of you in our lives.

Our village truly is the best.

With so much love,

Kat ❤️
